Mr. Ballachino has been the Instructor-in-Charge of a Washin-ryu branch school in the Eastern Coastal Region of Connecticut since 1999. He currently has his branch school in Essex, CT.

Mr. Best was the Instructor-in-Charge for the Washin-ryu branch school in Guilderland, New York from 1998-2012.

C. Scott Bowen has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 1971 and holds the rank of Hachi-dan (8th degree black belt).

Mr. Bowen was the Instructor-in-Charge for the Washin-ryu club school at the Binghamton YMCA from 1993-1994 and then at the Westover YMCA in Johnson City, New York from 1995-2012. Also, Mr. Bowen was the Instructor-in-Charge for the Washin-ryu club school at Binghamton University from 1993-2014, and he was an instructor of a Washin-ryu Karate course at Binghamton University from 2012-2019.

David Bryce has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 1996 and holds the rank of Roku-dan (6th degree black belt).

Dr. Bryce has been the Instructor-in-Charge for the Midwest Washin-ryu Club since 1998.

William Carpenter has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 1971 and holds the rank of Shichi-dan (7th degree black belt).

Mr. Carpenter was the Instructor-in-Charge of the Washin-ryu branch school in the Capital Region (Albany, NY) from 1987-2019. Currently, he is an advisor (Komon) to the Albany branch school.

Chris Escobar has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 1980 and holds the rank of Shichi-dan (7th degree black belt).

Mr. Escobar was the Instructor-in-Charge for the Washin-ryu branch school in New York City from 1994-2007.

Jocelyn Fansler has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 1993 and holds the rank of Shichi-dan (7th degree black belt).

Under Hidy Ochiai’s direction, Ms. Fansler initiated the first Women’s Self-Defense course at Binghamton University, which she taught from 1995-2002. Ms. Fansler has served as Hidy Ochiai’s assistant since 1995.

William Max Winkler has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 2000 and holds the rank of Roku-dan (6th degree black belt).

Mr. Winkler was the Instructor-in-Charge of the Washin-ryu branch school in New York City from 2007-2012, as well as the instructor of a Washin-ryu Karate course and Women’s Self-Defense course at Binghamton University from 2008-2012.

Mr. Winkler has been assigned the position of Regional Instructor-in-Charge of Washin-ryu for the Mid-Atlantic since 2012, and he has been the Instructor-in-Charge of the Washin-ryu branch school in Ashburn, Virgnia since 2013.
